The Long Summer

Cicadas sing,
how my ears ring with Cicadas’ song
all the Summer long.

The children playing
on the sandy flats
in their hats,
so happily in their hats.

They dig and run
and look and look again,
their refrain — a song of Summer,
all the long Summer long.
