Six Souls (lost to suicide)

Each day, six lonely people leave the fray,

Six victims of a sick world,

Six souls so all alone,

Six dispirited spirits, dispirited away,

Six sad souls who know,

there’s nowhere else to go — how so?

How so much sadness manifests — how so?

So much despair, so many souls in disrepair,

who cannot call the earth their home?

Who cannot hold to what they own?

For those for whom there is no rest —

that awful place,

who sent them there?
